Engineered stone is usually a composite of quartz, epoxy, pebbles and polymers to create a unique and dramatic look. When a countertop is made of engineered stone, it’s resistant to stains and heat, and doesn’t degrade in appearance. Like granite, engineered stone can hide seams, but it must be installed professionally. The thickness of engineered stone is normally around 1 ¼”.
